The Hopeless Scarecrow
Farmer Brown made a scarecrow using a pillow, some straw and old clothes. Joe was not your average scarecrow, he was a unique fellow. He would boogie at the local disco, shaking from his shoulder to his elbow. The crowd would explode with laughter as Joe groaned and moaned.
Joe, the scarecrow would boast how he scared all the crows from his home. Although Farmer Brown thought he was a hopeless fellow, he played the piano like a pro and caused the crocuses to grow

Dust Buster
My mother, brother and young cousin find it tough to touch blood. It doesn’t bother me. I can wear gloves and brush the rough dust, clean up some blood or even help with other tasks. They call me the dust buster! They don’t know that I brush the dust under the rug! Another job I can do is multiply double numbers. Adults are impressed.

Gertie the Gloomy Goose
One afternoon Hugh was watching a cartoon called Gertie the Gloomy Goose. Gertie flew smoothly through Blackpool on a broom when she toppled over fell and bruised her knee. In rage she took off her shoe and threw it at a musician who was playing a flute. He stood up, shook his fist at Gertie, smoothed down his suit and continued playing. It would take more than a bruise caused by a goose on a broom to stop a true flute player.

The Troubled Athlete
Get out of bed,’ I heard her bleat.
‘You’re not much of an athlete!’
‘Oh mum, the exercise is really extreme,
It makes me want to shout and scream.’
‘Get into the field and give my head peace.
Stop acting like your little niece.’
At this point I did concede
And wandered to the mucky field.
The abundance of energy I did release
Made my oxygen levels decrease.
Thirsty work and rigorous routine
Made me into a mean machine.
With my extreme training now complete
I realise I’ll make the greatest athlete.
My mother will cease her pleas at last
And all her bleating is a thing of the past!

The Surprised Burglar
Let me tell you the story of yesterday’s burglary. The mystery of the missing silver was discovered by the butler who alerted security. The guards disturbed the burglar as he circled the perimeter fence looking for an escape route.
He had entered the house without disturbing a soul. He slithered with uncertainty from room to room until he discovered the Fern family silver.
‘Ah, perfect. I’ve come to the end of my search’, he muttered as he stuffed the silver into his sack.
The burglar made a hasty exit. As he reached the perimeter fence, he felt a hand on his collar.
‘You have been caught on camera. You must return the silver.’ said the guard sternly.

The Astounding House
You would never believe that thousands of people would travel over mountains, underground, through clouds and by sea to visit the magical fountain at Slough House.
At noon each day people would surround the fountain at the astounding house and watch as the house changed to a clown. Bounce, the clown would bow to the applause of the crowd and astound the audience with his magic tricks.
The audience would shout aloud, ‘What a clown!’. Bounce would count to ten, jump into the fountain and he would reappear in his nightgown.
